As a sales rep, I was always on my feet during the work day. So finding a cute + comfortable shoe was a part time job. I often found myself thinking a shoe would be comfortable, only to have blisters all over my feet by the end of the day. Once I stopped buying cheap shoes, a lot of my problems were solved. Honestly, no more Target shoes for me. However, if you aren’t actually walking around a city all day, going from parking garage to high rise building, to taxi, to happy hour, back to parking garage, (are you following me?) then you probably don’t need to splurge on expensive shoes. If you do a lot of moving around for your job, consider shoes a quality investment!
Two of my most versatile, most worn shoes are in this weeks Looks for Less. The JCrew Edie and the Sam Edelman Dori Pump. These shoes are my go to shoes. When I was in sales, I had a tendency to rotate these shoes throughout the week. I found with all the walking that I did (10,000 steps + a day), if I wore any pair of shoes for more than 2 days in a row, my feet started to get sore. So by revolving between the two, I eliminated this issue.
So if you’re to buy one shoe from this list, I highly recommend the Edie. I own the Edie shoe in both nude and black. It’s a style that is classic and timeless so I think every working girl should own this loafer! The pointed toe helps elongate the leg, creating a slimming effect. Say goodbye to those rounded-toe ballet flats!
I also think a pump or a pair of black heels is a must in every working girls closet. If you can’t tolerate a heel more than 2”, the kitten heel is for you. I happen to be a kitten heel lover. Between juggling kids, work samples, and dealing with the whole sciatica issue (after pregnancy thing), I’m lucky to be wearing anything but sneakers to work.
I hope you enjoy these shoes as much as I do!
