Who here has looked in their closet and thought, “I have nothing to wear today?” ….Says me every morning! As a busy working momma, I struggled with this on a regular basis. One of my dirty (no pun intended) little secrets after baby number 2 was born is that I wear the same outfit for several days in a row. Now keep in mind that in sales you can do this because we don’t see the same people every day. However, as a sales rep calling on interior design professionals, I needed to dress the part. Between the accessories, the handbag, the fabric, colors, textures and trends, it is a part time job making sure that I have all the coordinating pieces working together to make me fit the part and feel confident while doing it!
So this little hack of wearing the same outfits saved me a ton of time and energy every week. Genius, right?! I do realize most of you probably aren’t in sales so this little hack won’t work for you. However, something I have done is created a Work Wardrobe Capsule for the month of February. This isn’t the trendy wardrobe capsule idea that is going around on pinterest. This is an organized chart of 5+ outfits that you wear on the same day of each week for a month. So every Monday, you rock that white silk blouse, black trousers pants and your Louis Vouittan pumps! On Tuesday, you wear your favorite cashmere sweater with that cute little pencil skirt that makes you look super skinny. You get the idea, right? So what I recommend is changing this up every month or two and maybe even have 2 weeks worth of revolving outfits depending on your budget and the time and energy you want to put into this.
I’ve put together 5+ looks for you to wear and rotate these during the month of February. I’ve also included different ways to wear these looks as I realize as working women, we all have various needs (comfortable shoes I’m talking to you).
I hope you all find this valuable as I know I really could have used it while I was working full time. Please share your comments, feedback and ideas below! I intend to launch a post like this every month in hopes I can make your chaotic life just a little bit easier.
Thanks for reading,
